| We are proud to announce that the LWV Davis Area is one of the sponsors of the Youth Empowerment Summit (YES) to be held on April 24th, 2021, 9am -12pm. A unique program by the Yolo County Election Department – “YES” aims to enable our youth to develop leadership skills, engage with their elected officials and talk directly to them about issues that matter to them. Learning from the inner workings our Election Department, School Boards and City Councils AND working collaboratively with peers, community leaders and potential mentors these youth gain an understanding of civic engagement. As a sponsor we especially want to recruit high school students (9th -12th grade) to participate in the Summit. Please help by encouraging High School students in your family, friends, neighborhoods, church youth groups, local organizations to consider registering and attend the Summit event on April 24th.
