Our California State leadership has approved our active support for LWV’s national initiative priority: urging Congress to pass the For the People Act, HR1/S1. 

The “For the People Act” legislates specific Federal voter protections that would restrict partisan State legislative actions that could be used to compromise voter access. You can read National League CEO, Virginia Kass’ support statement’s here:

Both California Senators, Dianne Feinstein and Alex Padilla sit on the Senate Rules Committee. LWV members can encourage them to help this bill advance to the Senate floor for a vote that will move it forward for the President’s signature. (President Biden has expressed support.) This is such an important time for League members, Democracy and Voter Rights!
